Extruder screw types

We manufacture and refurbish to the geometry your machine was built for. Send us the OEM drawing or the screw itself, and we’ll copy it.

Single-flighted screws

This is the standard extruder screw, with one flight running from the feed section through to the metering section. Most of the screws we refurbish are single-flighted.

Barrier and mixing screws

We manufacture and refurbish barrier screws, which use a second flight to separate melted material from unmelted pellets. We do the same for screws with mixing sections, such as Maddock-style fluted mixers and pin mixers. On a refurb, the mixing section is rebuilt to its original form along with the flights.

Screws for grooved feed extruders

A grooved feed section pushes material forward hard, so the screw and the liner have to suit each other. We also manufacture grooved feed liners (nitrided, with straight or spiral grooves) and can supply the screw and liner as a matched pair.

Rubber, feed and cable

We don’t only work on plastics screws. We also do screws for rubber extrusion, cereal and pet food lines, and the cable industry.

All brands, any make

We work on extruder screws for all brands, including Krauss Maffei, Davis Standard, Battenfeld, Boston Matthews, Plasmac and S&B.

We also manufacture the parts that go with the screw: screw tip assemblies, mixing noses, breaker plates, die plates, barrel end caps and barrel clamps.
